Serenity Press team, Karen and Monique looked gorgeous on the night. Their individual speeches and ambitions for Serenity Press are inspiring.

I’ve been fortunate that the people I’ve met along my writing journey have been incredibly supportive, particularly those I have met through the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. I was overjoyed to be included in this anthology,  and the fact that I was able to share it with two of my closest writing buddies, Rebecca and Teena, was the icing on top.

Writing the Dream

As an emerging writer I’ve had been on the receiving end of several rejection letters. Getting them is always bittersweet, and always feels personal, even though I know it shouldn’t.

But rejection letters make the following phrase all the sweeter.

“We are delighted to attach our offer of publication.”

That phrase was capped only by the excitement when the other contributors to the anthology were revealed.

Not only does this list feature several authors I admire, but it also includes some of my writing buddies. I couldn’t be more pleased to be part of such an amazing line-up.
